As part of the PNRR project "ETIC: Einstein Telescope Infrastructure Consortium", the Universityof the Perugia Studies - Department of Physics and Geology, leads the design and construction of the CAOS laboratory (Centre for Applications on Gravitational Waves and Seismology). CAOS will be the infrastructure in which mechanical suspensions will be studied and characterised, on a 1:1 scale.and for the main optics of the future third generation European gravitational wave observatory, called Einstein Telescope (ET). The new ET interferometric detector will increase the sensitivity and extend the observation band of current Advanc detectors to low frequenciesand Virgo Plus (AdVPlus) and Advanced LIGO. A similar project, called Cosmic Explorer, is led by the LIGO Scientific Collaboration (LSC).
