Description:
The Reactor Building in the Garigliano Power Plant is a spherical carbon steel structure with an internal diameter of approximately 49m, made with welded sheet metal, which houses the thermo-hydraulic components of the nuclear island and the related service equipment in special rooms. eginternals dismantling means the activities of removal, cutting and packaging in containers of the components installed inside the vessel, the management of the containers themselves up to their deposit in a suitable temporary storage area and the preparatory activities for the dismantlingminds. By vessel dismantling we mean the cutting and packaging of the Vessel in head containers, the Vessel itself, the Thermal Shield, the sections of piping connected to the Vessel and the drive mechanisms or control rods positioned in the sub-reactor room, the gestorage of the containers until they are deposited in a suitable temporary storage area.
